Audit Committee Report - Internal Audit Plan

This tool contains seven sample audit reports that can be used to evaluate and improve the internal audit plan. Audit plan highlights include an increased focus on corporatewide processes, identified cash flow and working capital improvement opportunities, and information technology auditing conducted at a significant level. 

Integrity and Ethical Values Audit Work Program

This tool contains two audit program samples that can be used by organizations to ensure a commitment to high ethical standards. Validation procedures include obtaining a copy of the code and assessing whether it is comprehensive and provides guidance to employees to make appropriate decisions in a wide enough variety of situations to be appropriately reflective of the scope of the company’s operations.

Application Audit Work Program

This tool includes three audit program samples that can be used by organizations to evaluate and improve business unit application controls. Sample work steps include conduct a planning meeting to discuss scope, approach and timing; determine the appropriate auditee contacts; work with auditee contacts to determine the scope, approach and timing of the audit.

Strategic Forecasting Guide

This guide discusses market drivers of forecasting, annual budgeting vs. rolling forecasts, integrated business planning, scenario analysis and the impact of strategic forecasting. Companies need to consider more data when understanding their market opportunities and threats.

Physical Inventory Policy

This purpose of this policy is to provide guidance for a company and its subsidiaries regarding the need to take regular physical inventories of raw material, work in process, finished goods and stores. Under this policy, procedures should ensure that all physical inventory results are summarized, discrepancies are investigated, and necessary adjustments are recorded.

Record Management Policy

This tool contains three sample policies that outline guidelines and procedures related to managing and retaining business records. In these samples, the general counsel is responsible for providing interpretation of this policy; the general counsel must oversee ongoing training regarding compliance with this policy.

Signature and Authorization Policy

This tool contains three sample policies that establish standards and procedures for signature approval and authorization requirements necessary to commit company funds or assets related to trade promotion and processing.
