Desktop Management Audit Work Program

This sample desktop management audit work program document outlines steps to audit the process used to deploy software to desktop computers.

Risk indicators include: different versions of the same software exist around the organization; users are the last to find out about changes to their desktops; upgrades are performed on an ad-hoc basis; software deployment takes an excessive amount of time; software deployment causes “pockets” of failures in the user community; no formal license management is in place; users regularly have to reboot; and each department procures its own IT equipment and expects the IT department to support it.
